What this mug is for

Every mug in the cupboard was built for a hand that has never held a bar.

This one wasn't.

  1. Your handle pinches two fingers.
  2. Your coffee is cold by nine.
  3. Your mug looks like everyone else's.
  4. Your grip deserves better.

One mug answers all four.

  1. The loop on your mug is too thin to grip well.
  2. Two fingers fit. The rest of your hand stays off it.
  3. Your bar is 28 mm and knurled. That handle is neither.

One handle answers all three.

  1. The handle is a thin loop, not a 28 mm knurl.
  2. You pinch it. You never hold it.
  3. The wall is single, not double.
  4. The logo is printed on. Ours is cut into the steel.

One mug answers all four.

  1. Two fingers is all an ordinary loop gives you.
  2. The bar you pull from is knurled at 28 mm. The loop is smooth.
  3. The rest of your hand has nowhere to go.

One handle answers all three.

  1. The handle has to fit a whole hand, not two fingers.
  2. The grip has to be knurled, the way the bar is.
  3. The steel has to hold the heat to the last mouthful.
  4. The mark has to be cut in, not printed on.

One mug answers all four.

  1. Patented barbell handle, 28 mm and knurled.
  2. 304 stainless, double-walled and vacuum-insulated.
  3. Laser-engraved logo, no paint and no print to wear off.
  4. Splash-proof lid, and it goes in the dishwasher.

One mug answers all four.

  1. The handle has to take the whole hand, with the knuckles clear.
  2. The knurl has to be real, not a pattern pressed into it.
  3. The steel has to keep coffee hot for six hours.
  4. The proof has to come from buyers, not from us.

One mug answers all four.

"I grab this for pre every morning at 6am before heading out. The weight and feel are spot on, like it's actually made for people who train. No regrets spending a bit more for something this dialed in."

"... The price seemed a little high at first but it's clearly a high quality & heavy duty mug; I'm definitely not afraid of it breaking!"

"Handle is a great size for adult hands. Can fit all my fingers around the handle with room on the top and bottom. My knuckles don't hit the mug body which was always a pain with my other mug."

Questions people ask before they buy

The questions we actually get.

Is it worth $44.99?

Fair question. A ceramic mug off a shelf costs a fraction of this and will not do what this does. Against the cheaper insulated mugs the difference is the build: a CNC machined, custom made body, walls up to twice as thick as a normal vacuum mug, a knurled 28 mm barbell handle, 304 stainless, and two years of warranty behind it. Across those two years it works out to about six cents a morning.

Is it heavy?

Heavier than the mug you have now, yes. It is 1.1 lb in hand, empty, and that weight is thicker 304 stainless and a solid handle rather than filler. It is nowhere near the weighted novelty mugs, which are built to be lifted rather than drunk from.

Will the lid leak?

The honest answer is that it is splash-proof, not leakproof. It takes the normal knocks of a desk or a kitchen counter, but it is not sealed, so keep it upright when you move it. If a lid fails in the first 30 days we replace it free.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Yes, mug and lid both. Plenty of stainless mugs ask you to hand wash so a printed finish survives. This one has no coating and the logo is etched into the steel, so there is nothing to chip, peel or fade.

How big is it, really?

Bigger than the mug it replaces. It holds 16 oz, stands 5.4 in tall and measures 5.5 in across with the handle. That size is the trade for a full cup instead of a half one.
